The unnecessary wild is more than a term for bad behaviour. It is the endless battle that we feral creatures face everyday as we continue to exist in a land where domesticity is favoured by what used to be "natural selection".

A lot has happened.

Quick synopsis:

I crawled out of the wolf's teeth with my skin and soul intact(ish)

I jumped in the car with a complete stranger on New Year's eve and ran away to Atlanta for an entire weekend in a penthouse loft.

I had a love affair with the west coast for 2 weeks.

My soul was saved in the redwood forest.

I started making Jewelry, and people started buying it

I no longer sleep for more than 4 hours a night

I may or may not be approaching another manic episode (?) either way, it feels great.

And somewhere along the way, i started dressing like a voodoo priestess and quit leaving the house.

My heart is breaking into a million pieces right now because Courtney Love is playing Cannery Ballroom tonight and i can't afford to go :(

Say what you want about her but i still think she's the biggest badass alive. I mean, yeah, she's a drunkard and a drug addict and batshit fucking crazy, but she really carved out a place for women in music that wasn't there before.

She also made it socially acceptable and even fashionable to wear your night gown out in public with your favourite shredded tights and combat boots.

I did get to see her when she was still with Hole about 13 years ago in Atlanta, in fact i got to see a little too much of her, she decided to climb a speaker tower directly above the camera station... (she doesn't wear underwear)

It was a pretty life altering experience for a 9 year old, not just because of the speaker incident. It was just cool to witness someone who has survived so much and is still moving through life at the speed of light. She is a meteorite.

Jewelry To Die For... Literally.

As most of you know, i generally do not promote jewelry made with real diamonds. I do not advocate the buying of diamonds, and i absolutely despise the diamond industry and what it has done to our world.

But when i saw this my heart actually skipped a beat.

And when i did a bit of research on the brand, the irony was so terribly comical i just had to share.

The brand is called AKILLIS (A KILL IS) and they make diamond studded bullets. Hilarious.

And as far as they claim, all the gems are manufactured. However, it is basically impossible to tell the difference between man-made and natural diamonds.

They're also all about some Tsavorite, which they probably do not manufacture.

Funny thing about Tsavorite,

it was nearly non-existent until 1967 when a large deposit of it was found in Tanzania by Campbell Bridges, a gem prospector and geologist. It remained relatively unknown to the world outside of mineral specialist until Tiffany & Co launched an ad campaign for it in 1974, which in turn launched later on yet another bloody war over a bunch of rocks.

Campbell Bridges was murdered on his own property about a year ago by a mob battling for control of his mines.

Just something to keep in the back of your skull while you drool over these dangerously gorgeous lovelies.

I’m talking about computers,

television, first class seating, chocolate, alcohol, drugs, everything man has created that gives us the divine sense of heaven. There is no point left in living a good, riotous life in hopes that you will be received into the glorious kingdom after your final hour has been completed.

Why would you spend your precious time suffering for the hopes that this figment of a father will engulf you in his arms to spend eternity in euphoria when you can buy euphoria for the low low price of $29.99? Why?

Did the devil invent the snuggie and does he really live on Lewis Street?

But the devil didn’t do this, we did. We created all of these amenities because the reality of it is, we don’t really want to go to heaven. We don’t want to go anywhere. We want to stay here forever, that’s why we have our carcasses embalmed and vacuum-sealed in a mahogany case. That’s why we paint, create music, build houses, that’s why we write stories. We fear being lost in the harsh emptiness of death so we have built an entire industry to create the heaven we were promised for later but want to experience now now now.

Oh Yeah, So This Is What Happened...

I was minding my own business, being a good little girl, staying home every night, cleaning house, making clothes, writing articles, etc...

And then the head mistress of crazy (my mother) calls and asks if i would be willing to carry this super cool guitar on a cruise ship for her. I asked her where the ship was going, she said Mexico and Honduras, i asked her how much it would cost she said free. I asked her when the ship was leaving.... she said in a week. (?!?!?!!!!)

I said Hell YE$$$

Next thing i know I'm on this massive boat the size of my high school and I'm pretty sure they're flooding the beast with oxygen the whole time because everyone is losing their minds.... there's a casino, a million bars, 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, a cornucopia of food and constant live music,

no cell phone service, spotty internet, and then i got mixed up with the Minor Kings (now Slow Motion Centerfold) boys

But Costa Maya really took the cake (not mine, everyone knows i have the most cake).

We rented an open top jeep, that promptly broke down and left us stranded on the side of the rode

had to flag down the policia to call the rental fucks to bring us a new jeep and an hour later we were running madly through the jungle and climbing to the top of mayan ruins,

where i experienced more electricity than i ever have in my life. I stood in places meant only for gods and laid on stones meant only for virgins,

I imagined what it would be like to believe in something so hard that i would be willing to be violently slaughtered for it. The thought should have incited loneliness in me.... but really it just made me feel more electric.

If i slept at all in the days following the experience it was drug induced, something crept up through those ancient stones and into my veins that i can not describe to you... all i can say is it was electric.

Honduras was another adventure altogether,

nothing could have beat Costa Maya, but i think it would have come closer had i not had a hypoglycemic fit and fainted in some beach side restaurant. I was fortunately brought back to life by french fries, ketchup and beer.

So baby Taxi decided to eat my power cord to my MacBook because apparently i was spending too much time on the computer and not enough time playing with her (jealous little bitch) and now i have no access to my shizz.
Then i ordered a new one and they sent it to my old apartment i haven't lived at in about a year.
So i broke into the old apartment today to try and get it back but nothing was there, i wandered around in the shell of my exhome for a bit, experienced some eerie nostalgia, and left before the cops were called.

Despite my very "legit" excuses for not providing visual answers for my 2 month absence, i still feel the need to entertain you with something, so chew on this for minute (not my power cord please):

Yeah, i abandoned you guys for a while.... sorry, i am a runner and my father's son.

I had some personal things to straighten out and discovered that (forgive the pun)

my personal life will never be straight (surprise?). But that's my life and that's the way it's supposed to be and i like it.

I was also beginning to question whether or not and to what degree i am ok with exploiting myself and personal life.

Do writer's even get the privilege of having a personal life?

So anyways, I'm back on blogging, a whole hell of a lot has happened and i am ready to share it with you. So open up and be prepared, I've lost my mind again and this time I'm not coming back for it.

Apparently I'm The Only One Who Cares...

.... but we lost one of the most perfect looking women in the world.

Daul Kim was found dead on November 19th

She had apparently been plagued by horrible mood swings and insomnia, despite the fact that she claimed to not do drugs or starve herself.

Knight Cat posted an image of her in a leopard print fur coat and a title reading "RIP Daul Kim". And all anyone could say was how fucking fabulous the coat was, at 12:30 today there were around 20 comments about that fucking coat and not a single one about how unfortunate it is that this 20 year old girl hung herself. All of those comments have since disappeared and replaced with some more sympathetic ones.

No wonder most people think that fashionistas are shallow.

And no wonder she hung herself, i would kill myself too if all anyone ever thought of me as was a beautiful coat hanger.

I hope you come back as biological warfare Daul, and remind us all what it means to be humble.

But i am attempting to! I have officially returned to the ballet studio, a NEW ballet studio!

It's called Bare Feet Studios and it's very conveniently located on Trousdale Dr.

Not only do they offer Ballet....

But they also offer Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Zumba, African, Modern, Yoga and Pilates.

And every 3rd friday they have a free dance class and sell class cards at half price!

Shortly before our departure from San Miguel de Allende, Casey Pierce and i had the good fortune of being photographed by one of the most creative and gifted photographers in the world, Miss Daniela Edburg.

She invited us into her studio and shared a bit of her creative process with us.

Almost all of her environments are hand made, which means that each and every one of those little cucharachas and moths were knitted by someone's hands.

I Witnessed The Holy Spectacle

If ever i have doubted my uncanny nack for falling into fortune's golden arms, I am now free of such foolishness.

Not only did I get to realize one of my life long dreams last night, I got to realize it for free.

My mother's dear friend Keith Coes, gave us amazing tickets to see Leonard Cohen live at TPAC. I was breathless the entire time. This is the man who bought us Everybody knows, I'm your man, Chelsea Hotel, Suzanne, and of course, Hallelujah (NO, that was NOT a Jeff Buckley song!)

This 74 year old man got on his knees last night and played so humbly to us, I could have died right then and there. His voice was smooth like honey, but still had the grit of a man who had lived a life full of heartbreak, love, excess and redemption.

I could do nothing but melt powerlessly as his words vibrated off my ribs.

Today is Mexico's best holiday, Day of The Dead. For tonight only, the dead return to our world and come back to visit their families.

The families honor their dead and help to guide them home by lighting candles and leaving food for them on their doorstep (Dia De Los Muertos is also known to street dogs as "Christmas")

Today is also the day that i was supposed to return to Mexico, that obviously didn't happen for financial reasons. However, i will celebrate anyways from my american home.

This is the offering of two pomegranates i left on my porch to my Popi and August. I also lit the jack-o-lantern that Jambly carved so they could find me.

I'm looking forward to spending this evening with my ghosts, i hope you all are as well.

Hallow's Eve In The Ville Of Nash

Halloween was, as always, too much.

We ventured to 3 parties....

But the White House party was by far my favourite, and also happened to be stumbling distance from my house. They had a huge yard to hold a whole cast of characters and a fun DJ who went by, "Goofy".

And best of all, lots of beautiful girls.

Halloween should probably last an entire week, Let's work on that next time.

The Rabbit Release party was a smashing success

BIG thanx to all who bought tickets and made our evening and our dream possible

Reviews of the new issue have been great, you can pick up your copy at Casablanca, Portland Brew, Nashville Clothing Company, Local Honey, Imagene & Willie, and Halcyon Bike Shop to name a few.

We all had waaay too much fun at the party, and Lance Conzett was kind enough to capture a few moments of the madness

Sarah Estes did some pretty stellar installations

And Jonas rocked our faces off with his Turbo Fruits

Albania Mania came back to us! These guys played the very first release party 2 years ago, and there were only 4 members. Now there's like 20 of them!
